Services for Clients
I. SITE ASSESSMENT
This is an extremely valuable investment for facilities desiring a visiting animal program. This will allow facilities to determine the ability of their organization to sustain an animal-assisted activity/therapy program. A licensed Pet Partners Site Assessor will conduct a standards-based site assessment of the facility, residents/clients of the facility, administrative support and staff attitudes, and present the facility administration with an analytical report. Recommendations such as the type of program best suited for the needs of the organization and how to achieve buy-in from staff are included. Fee: Based on facility size and complexity.
"Diana McQuarrie, her staff and volunteers are to be commended on the excellent job they do. From the day we interviewed them through the training, in-service and implementation of the program, they were professional, helpful and friendly. They are a joy to work with!"
Kathie Young, Director of Volunteer Services, Platte Valley Medical Center
II. AAA/T PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
This service includes helping a facility to develop complete, standards-based policies and procedures which address risk management and infection control, conduct staff training through in-services to teach staff how to work effectively with animal therapy teams in the facility, identify appropriate patients/residents for AAA/T, incorporate AAA/T into treatment plans and more. Placement services are provided through Denver Pet Partners to ensure well-trained, knowledgeable, suitably matched and insured volunteers are providing AAA/T. Coordination and ongoing management of the AAA/T program completes the cycle of service.
"The Delta Pet Partners have been a wonderful addition to Swedish Medical Center and to the comfort of our patients. The dogs are extremely well trained and the handlers know their protocol and work under hospital rules without any problems."
Sally Jo Thomas, Former Director of Volunteer Services, Swedish Medical Center
