Handling Skills for Safe Visits – Preparation for your Team Evaluation and Beyond
Are you a prospective handler looking for additional preparation before your evaluation? This half-day workshop focuses on core handling skills including being proactive and practicing PETS and YAYABA. Using a scenario-based approach, you’ll explore effective responses to a variety of situations that will ensure safe visits for you, your animal and your client. These sessions are delivered by Pet Partners Instructors with many years of experience. Prerequisite – This course is open to anyone who has completed the Handler Online Training Course through Pet Partners or the Handler Training Workshop.
NOTE #1: This training is for the Handler Only – No animals are allowed in the classroom.
NOTE #2: It is the policy of DPP that workshop attendees younger than 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will sign the indemnity form AND register to attend the workshop. This reflects the policies in many facilities that registered handlers younger than 16 must be accompanied by a trained parent/guardian when visiting with their therapy animal.
